Factory Production and Tracing

What is it?

Prefabricated parts such as precast, cut-and-bent rebar and aluminium are made in a factory before they reach site. Tracing them tells you where every piece is, so installation never waits.

Why it matters

If a prefabricated piece is late or made wrong, the crane and the crew stand waiting on site. Tracing shows the delay before it reaches the site.

How it works in EDC

Each piece has a code linked to its element in the model and is ticked at each stage: made, shipped, arrived, installed. The model is coloured by that status, so from your desk you see which pieces are at the factory, on the road or already installed.

Precast, steel and aluminium pieces are traced from the factory to site on the model: made, shipped, installed.
