Material Approvals MIR
Material approval is the consultant accepting a material before it is ordered and installed, checked against the specification and the sample. An unapproved material can be removed at the contractor's cost.
A wrong material in a building can be a safety risk or fail years later. Approval before ordering costs far less than removal after installation.
The contractor submits the material approval request (MIR) with the catalogue and certificates, and EDC compares it with the approved specification and points out any difference. The consultant answers A, B or rejected from a phone, and can also see local suppliers in the same country.
Each material request is checked against the approved specification by itself; the consultant approves from their phone, with local suppliers in front of you.
